In the minutes following the tornado that struck Windsor in 2008, Gerrard quickly mobilized to clear streets and remove debris allowing access to emergency personnel and equipment.

After the 1998 Spring Creek flood in Fort Collins, Gerrard Excavating worked around the clock building a temporary structure to protect a threatened neighborhood from additional flooding, which may have proved catastrophic. Gerrard also offered its services to pump out flooded residences and businesses all for no compensation.

Gerrard provides equipment and personnel to assist local emergency responses and law enforcement officials whenever needed. Gerrard equipment and personnel have been made available to help fight wildfires and structure fires as well as assist in rescue operations and trench safety training.
